Hello welcome to my new blog!  My name is Anneka Davies and I am a dressmaker and owner of Button and Bride.

I will be using the blog primarily as a dressmaking diary, to document some before and after images and work in progress pieces, so you can get a glimpse into the inner workings of my Bridal Alterations business.

I will also be adding updates about the Wedding dress Agency side of Button & Bride, as well as adding posts on all things Bridal and dress related.

I hope you will find it a useful resource for wedding and dressmaking inspirations.

As owner of Button and Bride I have a love of Couture fashions, and being surrounded by beautiful fabrics and dresses. I have a Fashion degree and years of experience sewing in the tailoring and bridal industry. My love of sewing and design is inherited from my grandmother, who was a fabric cutter and seamstress. She collected buttons, fabric, broaches and patterns and now I treasure them all, along with her wedding dress which she made herself. Working within the Bridal Industry brings together a lot of my loves, and I thoroughly enjoy my work. I decided to start Button and Bride with the aim of providing an exceptional alterations service in a beautiful studio space. This enables my clients to have the Bridal fitting experience with family and friends, even if they have not purchased from a bridal boutique.
